This Friday, 18 students from the YHS will be attending a 1 day Science and Engineering Challenge in Goulburn. Students compete against other schools in fun, engaging, hands-on activities such as designing an earthquake proof tower, building a hovercraft or bridge, providing electricity to a city and creating an environmentally friendly house.
This STEM outreach program hosted by the University of Newcastle in partnership with our local Rotary Clubs, challenges student’s perception of science and engineering.
Students are encouraged to brainstorm, design, build, test, problem solve, troubleshoot, tinker, innovate, and iterate.
